At the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals, not only the best athletes of the season are being awarded with a globe, but also to the winning team of the FIS Football Tournament. For the 7th time in a row, the local organising committee, Infront and FIS were able to put together this exciting and fun tournament, where athletes, coaches and World Cup staff battle for the win on snowy football fields.

In Aspen, the event took place on Wednesday evening in the very centre of town at the crowded Wagner Park. The eight registered teams where spread in two groups: Group A: France, USA, Slovenia, Infront and Group B: Austria, Nordics, USSA/Media, FIS. After a first round within each group, four teams advanced to the semi-finals.

This year, the small final saw the winner of the two previous editions Team France play and win against Team USSA/Media, while Austria challenged Infront in the big final. The Austrian Team was very strong in the final game and scored five goals. Infront couldn’t’ keep up and despite intense engagement, they had to let go the win of the 7th annual World Cup Football Tournament. Many Austrian athletes where on site to cheer for their team and celebrate their first globe of the week.
