Ingolstadt/Sölden, 27th October 2017 – Together in the next decade: Audi confirmed an extension of its contract as a title sponsor of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup until 2022. With this, Audi highlights its position as an important partner of international winter sports. The 16th season of the partnership starts this weekend in Sölden (Austria), where the continuation of this engagement was announced at the Audi Media Talk.
Audi unofficially kicked off the new World Cup season with its traditional international media talk, where athletes and coaches from 15 partner nations were present. The main topic this year was the agreement between the brand and the International Ski Federation on an extension of the contract as title sponsor of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup until the 2021/22 season included.
"We are pleased to be able to announce the prolongation of this long-lasting and successful partnership right before the start of the Olympic season,” says Thomas Glas, Director Sportmarketing AUDI AG. “This allows Audi to be and stay the leading partner of international winter sports. Our role as the title sponsor of the FIS Alpine World Cup is one of the highlights of our extensive engagement.”
This weekend, ladies and men will open the season with a giant slalom in Sölden and once more push out of the iconic Audi starting gate. Over the 15 years of successful partnership, the starting gate has become a distinctive symbol of this partnership.
