Another beautiful day at Beaver Creek, and another great training run in the books. Austria’s downhill Olympic Champion Matthias Mayer dominated the Birds of Prey and laid down the fastest time today, after finishing 4th only +0.41 off the pace in yesterday’s training. With this early season form, concretized by a second place in the downhill in Lake Louise last week, the Carinthian is the favourite for the Beaver Creek downhill taking place on Saturday.

Beat Feuz, who won the first downhill of the season in Lake Louise, finished 2nd of today’s training run. Adrien Théaux (1st / 5th), Hannes Reichelt (10th / 3rd), Johan Clarey (3rd / 7th) and Kjetil Jansrud (7th / 9th) also proved to have good sensations on the birds of prey and should definitely be on your “one-to-watch” list.

Tomorrow, a super-g will be held on the Birds of Prey, starting at 10h45 LOC / 18h45.
