Neureuther suffers knee injury in GS training
Aug 31, 2018·Alpine SkiingOn Saturday, German World Cup skier Felix Neureuther tore the cruciate ligament in his left knee at giant slalom training in Copper Mountain, Colorado. Neureuther explained that he was a bit late at the gate and tried to dig himself out, but it didn’t work out as planned, and he crashed.
“After the knee felt unstable, I drove to the Vail hospital, where the doctors diagnosed the cruciate ligament tear in my left knee with an MRI scan, and of course, the injury is extreme, especially after the successful start of the Olympic season. But I’ve had some setbacks in my career and I know how to deal with them, so I wish our team all the best for the season,” the German said.
Neureuther will return to Germany in the next few days and then undergo surgery. The German was just coming off his first win of the season at Levi.
