New members of the FIS family

Summer time doesn’t only mean dryland and intense preparation period for our athletes; it also goes hand in hand with more quality time at home with friends and family. This reassuring and trusted environment is important to our athletes and the support from their beloved ones is essential. Somehow they are part of the white circus.

So far this summer, different athletes got married and some became fathers. Let’s put the spotlight on the new members of the FIS family.

Our super-g World Champion Erik Guay and his wife Karen have a busy family life. After three girls, the couple is expecting a fourth kid.

Germany’s sweatheart Felix Neureuther announced that his partner, the biathlete Miriam Gössner, is expecting their first baby.

Also in Germany, speed specialist Andi Sander tied the knot to longtime girlfriend Julia.

Austria’s slalom skier Julia Grünwald got married.

„Riki“ Tonetti, Italian tech skier, and his partner Angela became husband and wife.

Leif Kristian Haugen, runner-up in the World Championships’ giant slalom, became a father last summer. Now he married Marthe, the mother of his child and the woman of his life.

Meanwhile in the USA, American downhiller Steven Nyman, who is currently recovering from an injury, became a dad.

According to his teammate Andi Sander, another injured athlete achieved relationship goals, by getting married to girlfriend Melanie this summer.
