Overview of National Championship races

The end of the World Cup season is not the end of the ski racing season for athletes, as most National Championships are currently underway. Here is a summary of who earned a National title so far.
Austria
The tech events were held in Goestling and the speed disciplines in Saalbach-Hinterglem. Unfortunately, the ladies’ downhill had to be cancelled, but Elisabeth Kappaurer, Julia Gruenwald, Ricarda Haaser, Rosina Schneeberger, Johannes Strolz, Hannes Reichelt and Vincent Kriechmayr could celebrate National Champions titles in all other disciplines.

Canada
Canadian tech skiers gathered in Tremblant for the National Championships and Erin Mielzinsky, Valerie Grenier, Phil Brown and Philip Trevor earned the National titles. The speed disciplines were decided earlier in the season, with Stefanie Fleckenstein and Broderick Thompson taking the downhill titles in Lake Louise and Georgia Brugess and Tyler Werry claiming the super-g titles in Nakiska.

**Lélex (tech) and Val Thorens (speed) hosted the French Championships. The high class field was topped by World Cup athletes Tessa Worley, Adeline Baud Mugnier, Adrien Théaux, Victor Muffat-Jeandet, Cyprien Sarazzin and surprise slalom winner Clément Noël.

Italy
The Italian Championships started in December in Pozza di Fassa, where Irene Curtonia and Tommaso Sala grabbed the slalom titles. After the World Cup Finals, the Italian athletes gathered in Passo San Pellegrino for the giant slalom, super-G and alpine combined races, crowning Federica Brignone, Dominik Paris, Guglielmo Bosca and Giuglio Bosca and the season concluded in Bardonecchia with Verena Stuffer and Peter Fill claiming the downhill titles.

Norway
All the Norwegian Championship races took place in Narvik last week. Kristin Lysdahl, Maria Therese Tviberg, Ragnhild Mowinkel, Rasmus Windingstad, Stian Saugestad, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, Leif Kristian Haugen and Henrik Kristoffersen were the winners..

Slovenia
Krvavec was the host of the Slovenian Championships. Ana Drev, Marusa Ferk, Ana Bucik, Meta Hrovat, Sasa Brezovnik, Miha Hrobat, Stefan Hadalin, Martin Cater, Klemen Kosi celebrated National Chamption titles.

In the Eastern European country, National Championships are held only in the tech disciplines and this season, Strbske Pleso organised the giant slalom and slalom races, where Matej Falat, Veronika Velez Zuzulova, Andreas Zampa and Tereza Jancova claimed the national titles.

Sweden
While the slalom National Championship was held earlier this season in Hassela with Emelie Wikstroem and Mattias Hargin taking the wins, all other events took place in Are and Lisa Hoernbald, Frida Hansdotter, Felix Monsen, Mattias Roenngren and André Myhrer could walk away with the national titles.

Sugarload gathered all the American athletes for their National Championship in slalom, giant slalom and super-g. Laurenne Ross, Resi Stiegler, Megan McJames, Ryan Cochran-Siegle, AJ Ginnis and Hig Roberts are the ones who could celebrate the National titles.
