Preliminary calendars for 2017/18 released

The preliminary competition calendars for the 2017 summer season and the winter 2017/18 were released on Friday afternoon during the annual spring meetings of the FIS Sub-Committees in Zurich (SUI).

These dates are not final yet and still have to be confirmed at the calender conference of the International Ski Federation FIS late May in Portoroz (SLO). Until then, changes of the calendars are still possible.

Summer season kicks off in Wisla

The men's FIS Grand Prix 2017 will start on July 14th and 15th with a team and an individual competition in Wisla (POL), followed by the competitions in Hinterzarten (GER; July 29) and Courchevel (FRA; Aug. 12). After the long trips to Hakuba (JPN) and Chaikovsky (RUS) late August / early September and the event Hinzenbach (AUT) on September 30th, the final of this competition series will take place in Klingenthal (GER) on October 3rd.

According to this preliminary calendar, the ladies' FIS Grand Prix will be held at three venues this summer, with Courchevel (FRA, Aug. 11), Frenstat (CZE; Aug. 18-19) and Chaikovsky (RUS; Sept. 9-10).

Winter with many highlights

The opening event of the Ski Jumping World Cup 2017/18 will be held in Ruka (FIN) on November 25th and 26th. After stops in Nizhny Tagil (RUS), Titisee-Neustadt (GER) and Engelberg (SUI) the 4-Hills-Tournament around New Year's will once again be the first big highlight in the calendar.

The second one follows already from January 19th to 21st with the Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf (GER). The fight for Olympic medals in PyeongChang (KOR) will then be the center of attention in February. The second edition of the RAW AIR Tournament will again take place mid March, right before the big season final in Planica (SLO), which will be held from March 23rd to 25th.

The ladies' start their World Cup season in Lillehammer (NOR) early December. After six other stops and the Olympic Games in PyeongChang, the final will again take place on the Holmenkollen in Oslo on March 11th.
