Successful Right To Play & Passion Schneesport Charity race
Aug 31, 2018·Alpine SkiingIt became tradition that following the Nations’ Team Event, the World Championship would host a Charity Race. On this Wednesday 14th February, Right To Play and Passion Schneesport managed to gather not less than 20 teams featuring countless national and international ski legends.
Teams are comprised of four members and come from all around the globe. The registered teams are:

- Madrias Seniors
- Valora
- Bansko
- Swiss-Ski
- Raiffeisen
- Passion Schneesport
- Andermatt Swiss Alps
- RightTo Play
- Entrepreneurs Partners
- Audi
- Skeena
- House of Switzerland
- Longines
- Kkiosk
- Courchevel Méribel 2023
- Ursus
Within those teams will be several legends, both male and female hoping to take home bragging rights from the race all in the name of a good cause. Atle Skaardal, Kjetil André Aamodt, Roland Collombin, Marc Girardelli, Fränzi Aufdenblatten, Marc Berthod, Didier Cuche, Bernhard Russi, Paul Accola, Marco Büchel, Hanni and Harti Weirather, Bruno Kernen and Patrick Küng are only a few of them.
In the end, it’s the team form Bansko, with Marc Girardelli, Kilian Albrecht, Stefan Gregoriev and Georgi Bobev who were the fastest in the parallel slalom on the St. Moritz 2017 Championship course.
The charity race, will benefit Right To Play, the international charity partner of FIS, together with Passion Schneesport, the national charity partner of the race.
Right To Play operates in over 20 countries and carries out programmes for more than 1’000’000 children on a weekly basis. It teaches children essential life skills through sport and play activities. In order to sustain and to increase its programming, its sports partners and athlete ambassadors all play an important role.
