Aug 31, 2018·Alpine SkiingNews has arrived that Slovakian World Cup star Veronika Velez Zuzulova has suffered a serious injury in Ushuaia, Argentina. According to Sport.sk, Team Manager Robert Magat confirmed that during a training session, she injured her right knee. The slalom specialist may have suffered an ACL tear, but the diagnosis is unconfirmed.
“On behalf of Veronika and her father, Timotej Zuzula, we ask all media representatives for patience, but we can not tell you more precisely about the extent and timing of the treatment of the injured knee, but we assure everyone that we will inform you immediately after further evaluation in Europe,” Magat told Sport.sk.
She is flying back to Austria for a more thorough evaluation and diagnosis. The lingering question is: Will she be able to compete in the Olympic Winter Games?

She has competed in three Olympic Winter Games, but never won a medal. The 33-year-old skier had five World Cup podium results last season including a win at Zagreb, Croatia. In total, she has one five World Cup slalom races during her career and earned 30 podium results.
