Innerhofer is the fastest down the icy Stelvio
Dec 26, 2018·Alpine SkiingThe first Men's World Cup DH training on the Stelvio in Bormio announced that the race of Friday will be a fascinating one. The rain of the past days and the cold temperatures turned into a very icy base layer, that goes from top to bottom of the course. The Stelvio is well known for being one of the toughest course on the World Cup Tour, with dark light and lots of bumps and this year it is even more demanding than in the past.
One athlete definetly likes when downhill is a fight down the mountain. It's Christof Innerhofer. Today, he laid down the fastest time in the first training, even though he missed a gate. He is followed by Austrian Daniel Hemetsberger and USA's Ryan Cochran-Sigele.
