Paris in the lead after the downhill portion of the AC

The World Ski Championships at Are 2019 have been marked by the weather so far, and it is no different for today's men's alpine combined. The course crew was able to clean the race track in time, but the wind forced the organisers to lower the start of the downhill and delay the whole program by an hour.

This didn't affect Dominik Paris much. The new super-g World Champion clocked the fastest time in the downhill portion. Not far behind is USA's Ryan Cochran-Siegle, who impressed by being only +0.03 off the leading pace. In third position, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde finished +0.38 behind.

Some slalom specialists managed to limit their disadvantage. The defending World Champion Luca Aerni for exemple is +1.23 behind, Austria's Marco Schwarz, who won the alpine combined in Wengen earlier this season, is +1.25 and the French combined specialists Victor Muffat-Jeandet and Alexis Pinturault are just behind with respectively +1.49 and +1.52.

As the downhill start has been lowered, the slalom start will also be a little lower down, in order to maintain the balance between the speed and the tech run. Let's see who walks away with the alpine combined World title in the second run set to start at 16:00.
