Switzerland unbeatable in the alpine team event

Under bright sunshine and blue skies at Grandvalira Soldeu - El Tarter (AND), Olympic and World champion Team Switzerland clinched another victory in the alpine team event at this season's World Cup Finals. They bested Norway in the big final while Germany outdueled Canada in the small final to claim third place.

Earlier in the day, Canada advanced to the Round of 8 after beating host nation Andorra in a qualification. But the hard-charging Andorran Team won praise from the crowd for their noble efforts. The heats were intense with many challenges coming down to the final run to determine qualification to further rounds. In the end, Team Switzerland maintained its unbeatable dominance in the discipline.

The event also marked the farewell of World Cup veteran Mattias Hargin who skied the final run of his career as a member of Team Sweden. The Kitzbuehel winner and three-time World Championships medalist made his World Cup debut in 2004 in Flachau (AUT), and said goodbye to the tour in Andorra.
