Today’s snow control confirmed that Holmenkollen is ready to host its second alpine City Event on January 1st. The iconic ski jumping hill will once again be transformed in an alpine arena, with a parallel slalom set on the opposite side for the best 16 men and ladies of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup,

The qualification process for this race is still open and will depend on the races in Bormio (ITA) and in Semmering (AUT) on the 28th and 29th December 2018. In the end, for both genders, the best 4 of the World Cup start list Overall and the best 12 of the World Cup start list in slalom will be enrolled. If an athlete is not participating, then the spot automatically goes to the next ranked in the WCSL-Slalom (see detailed City Event rules here).

At this point, it looks like André Myhrer, Olympic Champion and winner of the first City Event in Oslo, will be there to defend his title on the Holmenkollen. Also Mikaela Shiffrin, current leader of the Overall and of the Slalom standings, will try to realise a hat-trick with a third straight win in a City Event, after Oslo and Stockholm in 2018.

Oslo is promising a great head-to-head show, starting at 16h30 on January 1st.
