Campiglio is Yule's territory
Jan 08, 2020·Alpine SkiingSensational skiing from Daniel Yule (SUI), who claims his second World Cup victory in Madonna di Campiglio's Night Slalom. The Swiss talent shows how much he loves to ski on the 3Tre, the slope where he achieved both of his World Cup victories.
"Zagreb was a really tough slalom for me, but to turn it around this way is simply amazing. Now I am really looking forward to the rest of January!" said the Swiss slalom skier.
Yule was leading already after run 1 and had to defend himself from the attacks of the current best two slalom skiers on the tour, Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR) and Clement Noel (FRA).
The Norwegian ace, second after run 1, skied an impressive second run but due to a small mistake in the top section, he was not able to take his third victory in Campiglio. Kristoffersen finished second (+0.15s) and is now leading the Slalom standings.
French Noel, eight after run 1, scored the best time in the second run and climbed up 5 positions to take the third step of the podium (+0.25s). It's the third podium for the young talent out of four slalom races this season.
The Men's tour now heads to Adelboden (SUI) for some more technical races, with a Giant Slalom and a Slalom scheduled for this weekend.
