Justin Murisier comes back on snow
Jul 18, 2019·Alpine SkiingGood news from Justin Murisier: the giant slalom specialist will be back on the snow with the Swiss team early next week.
The recovery after his torn ACL injury is now over, Justin has done an intensive physical training program in the last few weeks to be able to participate at the first training on the snow, with the tech Swiss team in Saas-Fee, next week.
“After accepting, mentally and physically, this new injury, I had to work like crazy to regain confidence and rebuild my right leg! It has been a very difficult time, and today I see the end of the tunnel by joining my teammates in the glacier. I’m looking forward to coming back and I will do my best to get back into the shape I was."
In August 2018, Justin Murisier suffered a torn ACL and a cartilage injury in his right knee after falling during a giant slalom training in New Zealand. For Justin Murisier, this was the third serious injury to his right knee since his World Cup debut in 2010. He already skipped the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons due to two torn ACLs-- the first in autumn of 2011 playing football and the second eleven months later during slalom training. In the 2017/18 season, the Swiss skier was ranked 7th in the World Cup Giant Slalom standing.
