Countdown to 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games has started
Sep 17, 2019·Alpine SkiingWith just 115 days until the start of the 2020 Youth Olimpic Games, another step towards this excitement event was made on 17th September. As per tradition, the Lausanne 2020 Olympic torch was lit today in Athens, Greece. Tomorrow, the torch will make its way back to Switzerland and travel through the 26 Swiss cantons for a four-month trip that will end on the evening of the opening ceremony of Lausanne 2020, on 9 January.
The Olympic torch comes back to Switzerland after more than 70 years, when the Winter Olympic Games were last hosted in St. Moritz in 1948!
The Alpine Skiing programme will take place in Les Diablerets from 10 to 15 January 2020, where the most promising athletes in the world, aged between 15 and 18, will challenge each other on the slopes of the Swiss resort. The official schedule will be published in the coming days.
