ZAUCHENSEE, AUSTRIA - JANUARY 12 : Wendy Holdener of Switzerland takes 2nd place, Federica Brignone of Italy takes 1st place, Marta Bassino of Italy takes 3rd place during the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Women's Alpine Combined on January 12, 2020 in Zauchensee Austria. Once again the Italian and Swiss flags are waving in the finish area, this time, however, in a swapped place because on the first step of the podium there is the white, red and green Italian flag under the name of Federica Brignone.

The day started with a very demanding Super-G run: "turny" course set and bumpy snow conditions challenged the majority of the most awaited athletes like Petra Vlhova, Mikaela Shiffrin, Sofia Goggia or Ilka Stuhec.

With those Super G conditions, the tech-skiers came out to lead the first run of the day with Federica Brignone in first followed by her teammate Marta Bassino, chased by Wendy Holdener in third by 0.50 seconds.

Brignone skied a solid slalom run, and she claimed her fourth Alpine Combined win on the World Cup circuit, and it firms up a good run of form that has lifted her to second in the overall World Cup standings behind Shiffrin.
Swiss double combined world champion Wendy Holdener almost did enough to catch the Italian reducing her half-second deficit from the first run to 0.15sec on the second, and she climbed up one position overtaking Marta Bassino.

Another good note, Elvedina Muzaferija, Bosnia’s best alpine skier has made a history of the country's international sport by becoming the first female skier of Bosnia to win World Cup points.

The tour now is heading half an hour away to Flachau for the highlight slalom night event of the Tour.
