2022 Women’s Slalom World Cup Final

With the women’s slalom globe already claimed by Petra Vlhova (SVK) earlier in the season, the remaining athletes were racing to improve their position in the cup standings.

After the first run, Lena Duerr (GER) held a 0.37 second lead over Michelle Gisin (SUI) and 0.40 seconds on Ana Bucik (SLO).

Duerr completed a solid second run, however, it wasn’t even to keep up with Andreja Slokar’s second-run performance. Slokar finished 0.75 seconds behind Duerr in the first run, but blew the field away and finished 0.48 seconds ahead in the second run. Slokar claimed her first World Cup slalom victory to add to her parallel victory earlier on in the season in Lech/Zuers (AUT).

Olympic slalom champion, Vlhova, finished in third place behind to claim her eighth slalom World Cup podium this season.

Athletes will compete in their last World Cup race tomorrow which will be the women’s giant slalom. The first run is scheduled to start at 09:00 CET and the second at 12:00 CET. With the women’s giant slalom globe still up for grabs between four athletes, all will be pushing themselves to claim victory. Athletes fighting for the small globe are Sara Hector (SWE), Tessa Worley (FRA), Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) and Petra Vlhova.
