Approximately 250 athletes will compete at the end of September in the seventh edition of the Lowland Championships.

Due to Covid-19, the 2020 edition was cancelled, but now in 2021 the biggest indoor alpine championship is back, and even bigger! A seventh nation will join this alpine skiing slalom race on the 26th of September. The best skiers from Island will compete with the ski racers from Great Britain, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark and Ireland.

The racers are competing on the FIS homologated slope in SnowWorld Landgraaf (NL). This competition comes on a great moment in the season to organize an alpine ski race for the best skiers of the different Lowland countries within their own categories. The youngest racers compete in the U10 and it goes up to the Masters category. This is the reason that this competition is popular amongst racers, coaches and federations.

Apart from organizing the best alpine competition, inspiration and promotion for the alpine sport is what the organizing committee is aiming for.

There are a lot of very talented and good skiers originating from the Lowlands. The current WC skier Armand Marchant (BEL) won the first Lowland Championship title back in 2014 and of course, is an example as many other WC skiers (as the WC star Dave Ryding (GBR)) for all young athletes from these Lowlands.

The Lowland Championship nations title is won by the country scoring the most points in the different age categories over two races. The current titleholder is Great Britain. On Saturday the 25th of September there is the SnowWorld Cup (SL). On Sunday there is the Lowland Championship which is both an individual championship as well as a part of the Nations Championship.

The races will be in SnowWorld Landgraaf on 25th and 26th of September 2021.
