With one speed event complete, athletes prepare themselves for tomorrow’s Super G. After claiming the downhill gold medal today, Beat Feuz (SUI) seems to be the most at ease on “The Rock” however, the Swiss has yet to place on a Super G World Cup podium so far this season. In 2018, Feuz claimed the silver medal in PyeongChang (KOR) so will be motivated to hold that title or achieve more.

Favourites Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (NOR) and Marco Odermatt (SUI) share five Super G World Cup victories between them, Kilde (3), Odermatt (2). With the duo dominating the World Cup Super G races, they’ll be feeling other stars breathing down their neck. Neither of the two placed on the downhill podium, however finished 5th and 7th, respectively.

Matthias Mayer (AUT), has placed three times on the Super G podium so far this season, twice in 2nd and once in 3rd place. Being the reigning Super G Olympic Champion and downhill bronze medallist, Mayer might just hold the edge.

With two 3rd place finishes this season and reigning Super G World Champion, Vincent Kriechmayer (AUT) will also want his share in the glory. The only other racers to place a Super G podium so far this season have been Raphael Haaser (2nd), Travis Ganong (3rd), Broderick Thompson (3rd).

2018 Olympic bronze medallist, Kjetil Jansrud (NOR) has returned to the ski scene after incurring an injury earlier in the season. He was meant to compete in the downhill race, however, did not make the start. Time will tell whether the three-time Super G Crystal Globe winner will have what it takes to claim another Olympic medal.

Racing is scheduled to start Tuesday 8th at 11:00 local time / 04:00 CET.
