The first competition day at the FIS Alpine World Junior Championships Panorama 2022 belonged to the downhill.

Austria took the top spot today with Magdalena Egger. Magdalena was able to confirm yesterday's training performance and applied it again in today's race to become the new FIS Alpine World Junior Champion in downhill.

"During the inspection I realized that the conditions will be great and that I need to attack top to bottom. I was very nervous toady. I'm so grateful it all worked out!"Magdalena Egger (AUT) - World Junior Champion Panorama 2022

In general, today's podium was a copy of yesterday's training results. Emma Aicher from Germany made the race exciting until the very end with the last bib number and displaced Delia Durrer (SUI) to the fourth place. The American Lauren Macuga pushed hard, took the bronze medal and was overjoyed.

Both, men's and women's downhill were on the menü for today, whereas the men's downhill unfortunately had to be rescheduled due to foggy weather conditions. The men's downhill will take place tomorrow at 10:00am LOC (18:00 CET) before the women's super-G starting at 1:30pm LOC (21:30 CET).
