Ester Ledecká will not take part in any World Cup races until the end of the year due to health reasons. She will miss skiing and snowboarding competitions due to ongoing treatment of her collarbone.

Ester Ledecka has decided to postpone the start of the competition season for health reasons. She will not participate in the originally planned Ski World Cup in Lake Louise and will not compete in any World Cup races for the rest of the year. The postponement affects both the skiing and snowboarding season. Ledecka plans to return to the slopes after the New Year.

The three-time Olympic champion suffered a comminuted fracture of her collarbone during summer training. Because the treatment did not go as planned, Ledecka underwent a reoperation last week in Innsbruck. After consulting with Austrian doctors and physiotherapist Prof. Pavel Kolář, she decided to postpone the start of her training until next year.

"I would like to thank Dr. Sperner from the Kettenbrücke clinic in Innsbruck and Robert Trenkwalder from Red Bull for providing top quality care. I will do my best to return to the start of races next year at full strength." said Ester Ledecka.

The 2023 Ski World Championships take place in February in Courchevel and Meribel, France, while the Snowboard World Championships start two weeks later in Bakuriani, Georgia. Ledecka has not given up hope of competing, but is now fully focused on her recovery. "Now I have to be patient. Keep your fingers crossed that everything heals as it should," says Ester Ledecka.
