Seven months after his crash in Wengen during the Super-G and subsequent surgery on his left knee, Alexis Pinturault (FRA) is back on the slopes.

On Wednesday, August 28, the two-time Alpine Combined World Champion made his first turns in Cervinia, Italy, marking a crucial stage in his recovery and return to competition.

Seven months after my operation, I'm thrilled to finally put my skis back on. Just being at the top of the slopes again, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, was a reward in itself. I’ve dreamed of this first descent, but the journey has been long and challenging - full of doubt, pain, hard work, and resilience.Alexis Pinturault
There’s still a long way to go before I’m back in race mode, but making those first turns is a significant milestone. My knee has responded well so far, but we'll need to monitor how it handles the accumulation of days on skis and the return to regular training. For now, I'm satisfied with this first step. The upcoming training camp in Ushuaia will help us rebuild and regain strength.Alexis Pinturault

In a few days, Alexis Pinturault will head to Ushuaia, Argentina, for a three-week training camp, a crucial step in his preparation for the World Cup. In October, he will continue his training in Switzerland, in Saas-Fee and Zermatt.

The objective is clear: to reach peak performance before the winter season's first competitions, with the World Cup at Beaver Creek (USA) in early December in his sights, marking his return to the elite level. Pinturault is set to compete in Giant Slalom, Super-G, and Downhill, his new disciplines, having switched to speed events last season.
