Italian Summer inspections for the Women's World Cup begun

In the mountains of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Italian tour of inspection for the 2024-25 Women's World Cup has begun. The speed queens of skiing will return to the Tofane Olympia in January 2025, Saturday 18 with a downhill, Sunday 19 with a super-G. On the Olympia of the Tofane there was the FIS inspection to verify the various technical aspects related to the race course and the logistics of the two-day World Cup, as well as those related to the positioning of the cameras.

"The Fis inspection is a fundamental moment for the programming of the World Cup," emphasises Cortina Audi Fis Ski World Cup race director Matteo Gobbo. "On this occasion, we evaluated some practical expedients for the 2025 World Cup edition and considered some of them from an Olympic perspective. The availability of the Ista lift company was critical in this respect.

The Women's World Cup summer inspection tour continued on the Italian mountains, passing through Sestriere and La Thuile, which will respectively host the Giant Slalom and Slalom on the Kandahar G.A. Agnelli and Super G and Downhill on the Franco Berthod slopes.

The inspections in both locations examined in detail all the organisational aspects, from the race track to the finish area and all the facilities that will be used to support the events.

The two inspections were accompanied by the support of the TV rights holder Infront, which was able to plan the positioning of the cameras.

In the specific case of the two locations in the Alps of northwestern Italy, the inspections are very useful because, as they are not an annual event, they are updated and define the guidelines for arriving prepared for the event and for organizing the 2025 editions in the best possible way.

As far as the Valle d'Aosta resort is concerned, the organising committee, which is now defined and operational, has taken shape. Marco Mosso, the current president of the Asiva Committee, will again be the president. Dante Berthod, brother of Franco, after whom the race track is named, will be the vice president. The general manager will remain Corrado Giordano, who holds the same role for Funivie Piccolo San Bernardo. Daniele Collomb will be the race director, and Corrado Garino will be the slope director.
