With only five more days to go till the alpine Snowboard World Cup tour picks up pace again in Bad Gastein (AUT) on January 10 and 11, 2017, Local Organisers are in the last preparation phase for a true highlight of the World Cup calendar.

The slope for the double event, one parallel slalom and one team parallel slalom, is in perfect condition.

Additional low temperatures also allowed to continuously produce enough artificial slope and therefore lay the base for a superb event.

The first to check out the race hill have been the Austrian team riders who trained for two days right prior to the turn of the year.

“It's been tough but very good conditions. It's an advantage we hope to capitalise on in order to tie on to our good results in Bad Gastein,” said Ingemar Walder.

The Austrian head coach thereby hinted at the very good start into the season the Austrian race board squad had celebrated with two wins (Benjamin Karl and Ina Meschik) and two more top-3 finishes (Karl and Daniela Ulbing).

And as almost the whole team was able to prepare on the Bucheben slope – only reigning world champion Claudia Riegler missed out the unit due to illness but will resume training within the next days – chances are high that team Austria will keep the momentum at their home soil event.
