Austrian riders claim EC title

Sabine Schoeffmann and Johann Stefaner have won the 2016-17 Europa Cup title and therefore a personalised spot on the next season's World Cup tour.

Schoeffmann (AUT), who had earned her career's first Europa Cup title seven years ago had missed the finale events of the season which were staged in Scuol, Switzerland beginning of April but brought home the first rank with a total score of 3,110.

Germany's Carolin Langenhorst who had celebrated her career's first World Cup podium last season placed second (2.981) while Jemima Juritz, another Austrian, rounded out the top three as third (2689.70).

Over in the men's event, Stefaner secured his career's second thanks to a 12th and 19th rank finish in the two final parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom races.

Maurizio Bormolini (ITA; 2,400) and Sebastian Kislinger (AUT; 2,275) wrapped up things with the respective second and third overall.
