Kayseri celebrated its debut as a World Cup host last season facing some very tough conditions as racers had to deal with some very heavy fog during the competition.

However, looking back on a successful World Cup event back in February 2016 and two parallel slalom events of the 2015 Europa Cup tour, Local Organisers are ready for another highlight.

The parallel giant slalom staged on the Kültepe slope is the fourth and last of the 2016-17 alpine snowboard World Cup season and therefore serves as showdown for the race for the Crystal Globe in the PGS Cup standings (March 4, 2017) - and also as last test before all athletes travel to Spain to fight for gold, silver and bronze at the 12th FIS Snowboard World Championships scheduled from March 7 till 19, 2017 in Sierra Nevada, Spain.

VENUE SITE

Located at the foot of the extinct volcano Mount Erciyes that towers 3,916 m over the city it's explicable that the actual venue site is the Erciyes Ski Centre situated on the West face of the highest mountain in Central Anatolia.

The resort itself might be small as compared to international standards but offers already a total of some 45 km of skiing slopes between 1,800 to 3,000 metres in altitude as well as the longest chair lift operated in Turkey.

In addition, local authorities share the dream of converting the mountain into a new Davos and extend the trail map up to 160 km of interconnected slopes making the Ercyies Ski Centre the largest non-stop skiing area of Turkey.
