Nadya Ochner had her breakthrough season in the 2014-15 winter when the South Tyrolean athlete not only earned her career's first podium as third in the opening event in Carezza, Italy but also celebrated her first win in the team event alongside teammate Roland Fischnaller in Montafon, Austria the week after..

However, to get where she is now, Ochner had to learn it the hard way - at least in the beginning.

Being a little girl, she already knew that she wanted to learn how to snowboard. In the end, the rider from Burgstall got her first board at the age of five.

“It was a Milka board”, she recalls before adding: “I was so happy that I slept with it the first nights.”

However, the first tries in Schnalstal were painful as Ochner fell a lot during her first day.

But even the tears didn't stop the little lady she was back then who was – despite the pain – immediately hooked. Only three years later, Ochner participated in her first competitions.

Ever since, the law student never gave up dreaming of becoming a pro snowboarder and thanks to some hard training perseverance she was rewarded with a national team member status.

Ochner celebrated her World Cup debut in Valmalenco, Italy back in March 2010. Since then, she has been representing her country at the 2013 and 2015 world championships as well as the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games.
