Rok Marguc

Rok Marguc did his first turns on snowboard back in 1991 in Val Thorens, France, with his parents encouraging him right from the start.
Especially his father Metod played an important role in his career and does so still by helping his son as his coach.
His road to a professional career was also paved pretty early when Marguc, who had joined the Snowboard Club Rogla in 2000, won his first races at the Slovenian contest series for children powered by Milka.
Soon after, he tied on to his success with several contests at the Topolino competitions organised for kids.
With those great results in store, Rok started to think about a pro career, so the former basketball and handball player got more and more into alpine snowboarding.
In 2004, he competed in his first ever World Cup race staged at Maribor.
He snatched his first two World Championships medals a few years later at La Molina (2011) with one Bronze (PSL) and Silver (PGS) each.
In 2013, he was finally on top of the world not only earning Gold (PSL) at the FIS World Champs in Stoneham but also winning his career's first World Cup race in Arosa in March.
