Russian racers dominate first parallel event at junior worlds

Racerboarders from Russia have once again underlined their dominance in the alpine snowboard disciplines taking home three of six medals from the parallel giant slalom event of the FIS Junior World Championships currently underway in Klinovec (CZE).
Since 2014, Russian racers have at least claimed one gold in the parallel events at junior world champs, and Milena Bykova as well as Dmitry Sarsembaev, who was able to defend his 2016 title, added some more to the incredible team streak.
With Dmitry Loginov placing second in the men's event – an athlete who is keen to repeat his 2016 gold in the parallel slalom on Tuesday – it's obvious that Mother Russia has a huge bag of talented alpine snowboarders.
Daniela Ulbing (AUT) as well as Larissa Gasser (SUI) rounded out the women's podium with Arvid Auner (AUT) bringing home the bronze on the men's side of things.
The PGS race was staged in the single run format.
