Only a bit more than a month and the FIS Cross-Country top athletes will meet again at the season World Cup opener in Ruka, Finnland. However, the FIS Cross-Country family will miss one of its significant athletes on the start list and this time not not only for Ruka but for the entire World Cup season: Hanna Falk.

The 30 year-old Swede published via a message on Instagram that her back problems that she has been dealing with for years have come up to a new level and that she thus decided to undergo a surgery soon.

The back problems of Hanna Falk were in a range that could be dealt with in the past years, allowing her to even compete on the highest performance level as a solid component of the Swedish team. But as HEALTH IS KEY TO ANY SUCCESS the decision of Hanna Falk is clear and so her FIS Cross-Country family wishes her the best of success for her surgery and a strong comeback during the following rehab.
