3rd consecutive World Cup distance win for Alexander Bolshunov

Falun (SWE) - Snowfall had stopped and the view was clear for the men's 15km interval start in free technique. All eyes were set on the top spots in the last World Cup race taking place on European ground. The World Champion in 15km C, Martin Johnsrud Sundby set the pace, taking over the leaders chair with 33:27.05 minutes.

Bolshunov set out with as the last athlete on the course and knew the times that were to beat. He started out strongly and kept the times up, managing to run out a +8.9 seconds margin to Sundby. Didrik Toenseth equally built up his margin in the first half of the race and ended on the 3rd rank with a +17.7 second gap.

Alexander Bolshunov already ensured himself the small crystal globe for the Distance World Cup standing and is now on the hunt for the big crystal globe.
