Astana roller skiing open attracts more than 200 athletes

On 5 August, the city ski track in the Astana Central Park hosted the roller skiing competition attended by strongest active Kazakhstani athletes, members of Kazakhstan cross-country skiing national team, young skiers and veteran athletes.

The main of the traditional Astana Roller Skiing Open Cup is to promote skiing, attract young people to skiing and encourage people to live active and healthy lifestyle. More than 200 athletes took part in this year's edition.

Men’s 1997 and older category saw very tough competition. Vitaliy Pukhkalo from Kostanay region finished first, Olzhas Klimin was second and Konstantin Bortsov was third. It should be noted that Nikolai Chebotko, Rinat Mukhin and Daulet Rakhimbayev also competed in the race.

Women’s 1997 and older category race was won by Valeriya Tyuleneva from Kokshetau. Irina Bykova was second and Elmira Mutagarova was third.
