Big starting field at FIS Rollerski World Cup in Torsby

With over 100 athletes entered from nine nations, it will be a high- quality line up when Ski Club Bore in Torsby (SWE) hosts the FIS Rollerski World Cup 2018 premiere this weekend.

A short free technique city prologue in the centre of Torsby on Friday will be a spectacular start of the three-day event. A big audience is expected to cheer on the world's elite with the Torsby Festival that includes artists and other events  is organised the same day.

A free technique mass start is scheduled on Saturday ,and Sunday’s classic technique pursuit race takes place on the legendary climb “Hovfjället”, featuring an uphill climb with almost 400 metres of inclination in 7 km.

Among the big names who will participate are the Swedish national A-team member Victor Thorn, last year’s overall Rollerski World Cup winners Alena Prochazkova (SVK) and Robin Norum (SWE), the “Queen of Solleftea”, Linn Soemskar (SWE). Also Eugeniiy Dementiev (RUS) and Sandra Schuetzova (CHE) are entered.

In addition to those names, Italy, Latvia, France, Germany and Norway are sending their national Rollerski teams to Torsby.

“We hope for some more names to come to the FIS Rollerski World Cup 2018 premiere in Torsby” says Per-Ake Yttergard the Chief of Competition. “We will keep a ‘late entry-line’ open until Thursday.”

The FIS Rollerski World Cup premiere is also the first stage of the Swedish national Rollerski Cup and categories for youth and recreational will also be part of the event.
