Last spring Charlotte Kalla decided to leave the Swedish national team and during the off-season to train on her own. Kalla is going to keep the same model for the Olympic Games season preparation.

“I have decided to stay outside of the national team for the upcoming training season. I will develop cooperation with the team who were around me last year,” Charlotte Kalla said in the Swedish national team press release.

Swedish Ski Association respects Kalla's decision and is going to support her on her way to PyeongChang. “We would have loved to have Charlotte back in the national team training group but it worked well last year and we respect her decision. Swedish Ski Association will do what we can to support Charlotte. The most important thing is that she feels safe and in a good shape. All we want is the Swedish success at the Olympic Games in PyeongChang,” Johan Sares head of Swedish Cross-Country said.
