Rickardsson appeared on the international platform for the first time at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2002 in Schonach...his first World Cup competition was a relay in Falun in 2003...his first individual start was in Umea in 2004 ... when he competed in the World Cup outside of Sweden for the first time, he got the chance to participate in the Tour de Ski in 2008...from then on Rickardsson has established himself in the World Cup circuit and competed regularly in the World Cup... In Liberec in 2009, he was a part of the Swedish Team that finished 6th in the relay...the breakthrough came in 2010 where he won a Tour de Ski stage and became Olympic Champion in relay with the Swedish team.. In the past season Rickardsson took his first World Cup victory in Drammen just before the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and for the first time stepped on the podium of the overall FIS Cross-Country World Cup ranking by taking the third spot

HE enjoys playing golf in this summer
Richardsson became a sports teacher after his studies in Umea and he worked besides skiing: “I had no other choice as I was not member of the national team and had to finance my sport. In that time I was not always so fresh.”
