The 8th edition of Ushuaia Loppet, together with the 32nd Marchablanca (25km race), put the spotlight on popular cross-country skiing back to the tourist destination Fin del Mundo, in the Argentinian Tierra del Fuego.

Frost & snowfalls ensured great race day

Immersed in a heavenly environment where the sun shone, everything was ready for a new version of the official opening of the Worldloppet season 2018/19, from the End of the World no more and no less. This eighth edition felt sheltered by a cold frost and snow fall during the previous night, which left the track in optimal conditions for the development of the classic modality.

Home victory & Estonian winner

For the 50 kilometers in classic style, the local Federico Cichero (ARG) appeared as the great candidate and ratified the credentials making an overwhelming difference on his escorts (almost 26 min advantage) who were going to defend the European potential. We talked about Avo Kilsipuu and Madis Torim who completed the podium representing Estonia.
Among the ladies Ushuaialoppet would also come the joy from Estonia with Tiina Voogne pursued by the local Claudia Herlein and the Hungarian Erika Vasziljevics.

Pablo Valcheff, CEO of Ushuaia Loppet, said that "there was a party for everyone, with ideal weather, the sun accompanying, excellent track conditions and the people who are always there to give a hand".
