FIS Cross-Country Skiing family meets in Slovenia
Aug 31, 2018·Cross-CountryFrom 24th – 27th May the traditional spring FIS Calendar Conference is taking place in Portoroz, Slovenia where the FIS family will gather in the Grand Hotel Bernardin.
Cross-Country Skiing Agenda
The Cross-Committee chaired by Vegard Ulvang, its six Sub-Committees and several working groups have a lot of important points on their agendas. The Cross-Country Skiing meetings will start on 24th May with the Executive Board meeting in the morning and with Ladies, Roller-Skiing and Development Sub-Committees in the afternoon. On Thursday, 25th May Cross-Country meetings continue with Sub-Committees for Youth & Children, Popular Cross-Country Skiing and Rules & Control.
On Friday, 26th May the Sub-Committee for World and Continental Cups convenes in the morning and the Cross-Country Committee in the afternoon will close the busy week.
A lot of Cross-Country Skiing topics are on the agenda for this week in Portoroz. The discussion points range from attractiveness of Cross-Country skiing to kids & youth, precision of ICR and World Cup rules, to Roller skiing, Popular Cross-Country Skiing and Ladies’ items. An important topic will be future FIS Cross-Country World Cup calendars and discussion about competition formats.
FIS Cross-Country World Cup organisers event seminar
As every year, FIS Cross-Country World Cup organisers will meet with the FIS staff, FISMAG, Infront and EBU at the event seminar. The goal of the meeting is to evaluate last World Cup season from different perspectives. First TV audience data, media and team’s feedbacks will be presented and goals for the next season will be brought on the table.
Decisions
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup Calendar for 2017/18 and the summary of the most important decisions will be communicated next week after the FIS Council meeting.
