German performance tests in Oberhof
Aug 31, 2018·Cross-CountryLast weekend Oberhof hosted traditional German performance tests and German roller skiing sprint nationals. Three competitions were on the schedule.
Panzhinskiy and Matveeva sprint winners
Natalia Matveeva and Alexander Panzhinkiy won the roller ski sprint classic. In the men's race Panzhinskiy powered to victory ahead of Thomas Bing and Maciej Starega of Poland.
Victoria Carl set the fastest time in the sprint qualifier, however, finished in 6th place in the final. Natalia Matveeva of Russia secured the victory ahead of Sandra Ringwald and Yulia Tchekaleva.
Pink and Bögl won day two
On the second day of the German performance test a running race was on the schedule. Pia Fink won the ladies' 5 km competition in her personal best time and beat the runner up Julia Belger by +23 seconds. Sandra Ringwald. Monique Siegel took 3rd place.
Also in the men's 10 km race the winner set his personal best time. Lucas Bögl was the only athlete to finish under 33 minutes and stopped the clock in 32:46. Thomas Wick was 2nd and Thomas Bing was 3rd.
Final day for Carl and Bing
The last race of the performance test was ladies' 15,6 km free and men's 23,4 km free. Victoria Carl dominated the interval start competition in 37:32.8. Stefanie Böhler lost +24.3 on Carl and finished in 2nd place. Antonia Fräbel was 3rd.
Thomas Bing won the men's race with a narrow gap of +2.2 seconds on Sebatsian Eisenlauer in second place. Jonas Dobler took 3rd place +32.4 sec back.
