START OF THE SPORTING CAREER
When he was a child, Ilia Chernousov had practiced artistic gymnastic before he came to Cross-Country skiing.
CAREER
Chernousov had a very good first half of last season with good results at the season opener in Gällivare 5th place in the Ruka Triple in Kuusamo and 10th place in the Tour de Ski.
FIS World Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme did not go well for Ilia Chernousov as his best result was 25th place in the Skiathlon.
Chernousov claimed a satisfaction on the Holmenkollen and 3rd palce in the Men’s 50 km Mass Start Free. “No race on Holmenkollen is a piece of cake and today was not an exception. I have had a good season with a bad World Championships. Today's third place is satisfying for me,” Chernousov said.
During the summer 2013 Ilia Chernousov trained with Alexander Legkov in Oberhof (GER), Davos (SUI) and Falls Creek (AUS).
PERSONAL
Ilia Chernousov trains in a separate group around coach Reto Burgermeister and his friend Alexander Legkov.
He likes extreme experiences and tried skydiving last summer, he also enjoys traveling. He wants to achieve in his career a top three at the Olympics. He enjoys racing in each competitions. – from sprint to long distance.
