Martin Jaks is a big hope of Czech Cross-Country Skiing. Successful junior begun to show his potential in 2006 at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships and later on in 2008 when he scored a decent 11th place in FIS Tour de Ski…in the same year he took the U23 World Champion title over 15 km classic and finished for the first time on the podium, 3rd stage place in 3,3 km Prologue of World Cup final in Bormio. The Olympic season started not so well but gave him big surprise in the end – bronze medal in relay in Vancouver 2010. Last season Jaks went up again having scored 8the place in In Tour de Ski and 16th place in the overall World Cup standing, which meant for the Czech promising youngster the best season ever. It could have been even better but unfortunately during the last training camp before the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo he caught a bacterial flu and the February as well the March was influenced by this illness.
