New training season got under way

The month of May is traditionally the time, when national teams start their new training season for the upcoming winter. After a short period of break after the end of the season athletes are back in full training for the Olympic Games season 2017/18. Here a short overview where various teams train.

Switzerland
Dario Cologna and his teammates started their road to PyengChang traditionally under the sun. This year the team travelled to Sardegna, Italy. In the Tirreno resort cycling, strength training rollerskiing and trail running was on the programme.

Sweden
The Swedish Cross-Country team decided to kick off the training season on snow. Jämtland Vålådalen and Norwegian Meråker welcomed on 5th May men’s and ladies’ national teams. Unlike the previous years, the national team started earlier. Three joint training camps will be carried out before a break in July.

Norway
Norwegian national teams started their training period already at the beginning of May. From 2nd – 5th May both men’s and ladie’s national teams met in Sjusjoen for a the first training on snow. Another camp on snow is scheduled from 27th May – 2nd June at Sognefjellet.

Finland
Most of the Finnish team is now in Kilpisjärvi on snow. The camp on Monday 15th and will last until Sunday 21st of May.

Czech Republic
The Czech Cross-Country team met for the first time under the new head coach Ilka Jarva in the Czech mountains.

France
French team has just finished its first training camp of the season. The team kicked off the preparation for the next winter in southern France, Buis les Baronies Mont Ventoux.

USA
The whole team USA is in Bend, Oregon at Mt. Bachelor ski resort for a 2-weeks training camp.
