Translated from Nordicmag.info:

On the second podium of his career (and this season) in Dresden, the sprinter from Grand-Bornand wants to build confidence in Planica, Slovenia before the Olympic Games begin next month in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Lucas Chanavat, you have just recorded your second consecutive World Cup podium in Dresden. How was the experience in this extremely fast final against Klaebo and Pellegrino in particular?
I had a lot of fun on this final. We started strong with Klaebo, we focused a lot on each other and maybe that's why Pellegrino managed to surprise us. In short, I am really satisfied with my approach since I played offensive and all bets were for the win, even if unfortunately it did not happen this time.

You had the fastest time in qualification in front of Klaebo. Is it important mentally to make a mark in a qualifier?
Yes I think it is relatively important to make a good qualification because it proves that you can be the fastest on the track, and it also allows a better choice of heats for the quarter-finals. After (almost) everything is reset for the final stages and anything can happen. Even though overall the best times are often on the podiums.

Planica will be the last stop before the Games for which you now have your ticket. Is this a dream come true for you with this Olympic qualification?

We will know the official selections later but Planica will actually mark the last step before the Games. For this "big dress rehearsal", it will be important for us to answer during this World Cup. It's the final classic sprint before Korea.
