The Norwegian Ski Association has invited junior Cross-Country skiers to train and be inspired for a future career in sports. 14 nations are taking part in the camp, which is taking place from 27th July-4th August 2017 at Sjusjøen, close to Lillehammer. Athletes from Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Spain and Norway will participate.

During this busy week, the young athletes, all born in 1998 and 1999, will participate in several training sessions. These include a mud race, roller ski race, mountain hikes and uphill running, as well as physical tests for strength, flexibility and speed. In addition, there are motivational and theoretical sessions led by some of Norway’s best coaches and cross-country skiers including Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo.

The importance of sharing knowledge is a key component of the training camp, both between athletes and coaches from the different National Ski Associations. By gathering so many young talents from a wide range of nationalities, the goal of the camp is for athletes to have a unique opportunity to share knowledge from a leading Cross-Country Skiing nation, to help the sport can continue to grow and develop in more nations.
