Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg of Norway got her personal revenge today in the ladies' 5 km classic mass start.  After a disappointing first stage sprint result she was very motivated to go out and get herself a victory on stage two.  With her win today by 7 seconds over her teammate Heidi Weng, Oestberg has taken over the Tour lead by 10.3 seconds also ahead of Weng.  Sweden's Stina Nilsson who led the Tour after day one struggled to maintain the early pace of Oestberg, Weng and Finland's Krista Parmakoski but fought hard to take 5th place.  She remains in third place in the overall standings.  Parmakoski took third place in the 5 km classic +11.4 behind Oestberg's winning time of 13:21.2 and now sits 4th in the overall standings.

Switzerland's Nadine Faendrich known best for her sprint abilities especially in the sprint prologue recorded her best World Cup finish ever with a 4th place result today.  She was joined by her teammate Laurien van Der Graaf in the top 10 another personal best for a Swiss sprinter in a distance event.  Finland's Anne Kylloenen sat 29th after stage 1 and skied to a 6th place finish today moving her up to 14th in the overall standings.

ATHLETE QUOTES

Ingvild Flugstad Østberg (NOR)
I wanted to proof to myself after yesterday that I could ski like I did today. I knew it was important to make it to the seminal but I did not expect not make out of the semifinal. Such a result sometimes makes you give your best.

Heidi Weng (NOR)
I’ve been struggling a bit with the high altitude here. I felt very stiff in my legs. Before the race I was afraid about the downhills but I’m happy I did not fall.

Krista Parmakoski (FIN)
I had a good race. Second lap was maybe little bit better than the first one. I felt I had maybe little bit too much grip. I have moved up to 4th in the Overall Tour standing and that’s good.
