Østberg and Sundby won 43rd Skarverennet

Ingvild Flugstad Østberg and Martin Johnsrud Sundby won Skarverennet 2017. Both beat the track record from 2005. New time in the women's class is 1.30.19, over one minute better than the previous record. In the men's class, new time is 1.19.45, slightly better than in 2005.

Great snow conditions welcomed 12.000 participants who set off from Finse to Haugastøl. Ingvild Flugstad Østberg won the women's class for the first time. "The course was amazing and the skis were phenomenal! There was also a great atmopsphere all the way," she added. Marit Bjørgen went well from the start and ended up in a good second place. Krista Parmakoski from Finland finished in the third place.

Martin Johnsrud Sundby won the men's race for the second time. "Over the first hill from Finse it was a bit hard, but after that I had good speed all the way," said a happy Johnsrud. Swiss Toni Livers came second, while Sjur Røethe took third place in the men's class.
