Petr Sedov is one of the young talents in Russia and started skiing at the age of 5...in 2007 he appeared for the first time in the European ski world when he took part in the 2007 European Youth Olympics in Jaca – he finished there twice on the podium with 2nd place over 10 km free and 3rd over 7,5 km classic... in 2008 he competed for the first time at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships where he won the silver medal in 20 km mass start race and gold medal in relay...a year later Sedov won three titles at the Junior World Championships (skiathlon, 10 km free, relay)...in spring 2009 the young Russian took part at the World Cup in Lahti where he made his first top ten results in his career with the 10th place over 15 km free technique... In 2010 Sedov qualified for the Olympics and took his third individual Junior World Champion title (in skiathlon)...in 2011, he had some health problems with his heart but competed at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and moved for the first time in the top 20 of the overall World Cup ranking

... he comes from a Cross-Country family. His father Nikolai is a Cross-Country coach and was responsible in the past year for the ladies in the Russian team. His sister Nastya is one of the most talented girls in Russia and is currently National Champion in the youth class.

...his father Nikolai Sedov moved in the 80’s to Sarov, which is well known as an important nuclear center in Russia, and founded the only Cross-Country school in that region.

....Petr Sedov had to go for a detailed heart check after a medical research at the end of December 2010. „Swiss doctors in Davos have ruled out a number of serious conditions,“ explained Nikolay Sedov in January 2010. „With Peter’s heart is all right.“
