Finnish skier Riitta-Liisa Roponen underwent a spinal operation seven weeks ago in Germany. The surgery was completely successful, and now it has been confirmed that Roponen will continue her career towards the next winter Olympic Games.

After four weeks of full rest and rehabilitation, Roponen received permission from doctors to begin easy skiing.

"My situation is currently very good and I have been able to enjoy the nice spring skiing weather.  My thoughts are already, however, towards the forthcoming Olympic year and I am glad that I can start full preparations for the Olympic Games like all the other skiers as early as May," comments Roponen. "In general, the spring feeling is usually a tired one, but now I look forward to training with the team as a young foal."
