BASIC INFORMATION

The Tyrolean Olympiaregion Seefeld with around 3.369 inhabitants combines rural tradition with urban lifestyle in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps at an altitude of 1,200 metres above sea level. Whether in summer or winter, Seefeld is an excellent choice for your holiday. In Winter Nordic sport enthusiasts and amateurs can enjoy 150 kilometres for classic-style skiing and 130 kilometres for skating, covering all levels of difficulty. In summer 650 kilometres of hiking tracks, 266 kilometres of jogging and Nordic walking trails and the 570 kilometres of routes for cycling, e-biking and mountain biking. Lovers of other sports, such as climbing, golf, horse-riding, paragliding and tennis, can also enjoy a wide range of options. Seefeld is home to Tyrol’s oldest pedestrian zone. Situated in this lively meeting place are a charming, alpine-style casino, numerous shops including a fine selection of boutiques and speciality retailers, and a vast array of tempting gastronomic options. The holiday region owes its name to its sporting history – it played host to the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976, and was the venue of the Youth Olympic Games in 2012. Ideal cross-country skiing conditions and a high level of competence in the field of Nordic sports make Seefeld one of the most popular locations for internationally renowned sports competitions, such as the Nordic Combined Triple World Cup. A particular highlight is the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships, which are set to be held in Seefeld for the second time in 2019.

VENUE INFORMATION

Seefeld is host of the next FIS Nordic World Championships in 2019. For that reason a lot of
new infrastructure as well as reconstructions happened the last 2 years. Seefeld now offers
fantastic cross country tracks which lead 280 km through the Olympia region. Furthermore, the Nordic Competence centre offers an additional base building with more and new wax cabins.

The cross-country stadium for the competitions is now located in the so called “Möserertal” where you can find the start and finish area from the different loops such as the 2,5 km, 3,3 km and a 3,75 km track.

The ski Jumping hills are located in the so-called Casino Arena. In 1931, the “Jahnschanze” was built in Seefeld in Tirol and in 1948 it was renamed after the skiing legend Anton Seelos. The Toni Seelos jump was demolished in 2010 to create space for two new Toni Seelos jumps – the HS75 and the HS109.
