Press release by newspower.it:

- 'La Sgambeda' XC skiing event to get on track next 2 December
- Over two hours of TV live coverage from Rai Sport channel
- Visma Ski Classics to kick off in Livigno after a prologue in Switzerland
- Italy's Federico Pellegrino and the national team train in Livigno

"We have been working at full power and the track looks already in very good condition", says La Sgambeda OC President Luca Moretti, two weeks ahead of the race.

The Italian winter event will be opening the Visma Ski Classics – the long distance ski championship – that will officially draw open the curtains with a prologue in Switzerland at the end of this month, however the first real long-distance race is scheduled on 2 December, when La Sgambeda 2017 will also be aired on TV for a more- than-two-hours-long live show (Rai Sport channel from 9.15AM to 11.30AM)

"In the Livigno area snow cannons have been shooting hard for days and La Sgambeda track I guess is ready in the starting zone, plus there is a good layer of natural snow all around. It will be entirely ready in December, that's for sure", said Italy's Federico Pellegrino who is training in Livigno these days before the World Cup kicks off. Livigno is hosting a few tests with senior and junior teams, plus the World Cup national qualifiers next 23 November.

Entries to La Sgambeda 2017 are open and the fee will remain € 95,00 until 29 November.

In 27 editions, they have never missed one. They are called the pioneers, 13 men who wouldn't miss La Sgambeda for the world. Their names are: Epi and Leonardo Bormolini, Gelsomino Cusini, Roberto Gasperi, Giancarlo Lanfranchi, Arno Longa, Carlo Scaglia, Quirino Silvestri, Luciano Dalla Pozza (born in 1946), Giuseppe Archetti, Aldo Crippa, Sergio Valentini and Frank Alber, the only German pioneer.

As said, La Sgambeda race is for all, snow lovers, skiers of any kind, amateurs and pros, but also kids (born from 2000 to 2009) who will compete at the MiniSgambeda inside the Cross Country Stadium over a 1 up to 5 kilometers-long track.
